Motor Vehicle Insurance
The Motor Class of Insurance is by far the largest and commonest of all classes not only in Zimbabwe, but world-wide. It accounts for over 70% of the local market’s annual premium incomes. The class has 3 types of covers that a potential client can choose from: Motor Insurance Third Party Cover This is the most basic cover under the class and protects the client (or insured/ policyholder) against loss or damage to Third Party Properties in the course of driving, and death or bodily injury these Third Parties only. Any legal liabilities arising from the conduct of the policyholder’s driving which culminates in any of the above mentioned accidents (bodily injury, death, or property damage) to third parties is automatically assumed by the policy. Third Party, Fire and Theft Cover This is an upgrade over the basic Third Party Cover only (above) as it additionally provides cover to the policyholder against loss of, or damage to the policyholder’s vehicle only as a result of fire or theft. Comprehensive Cover This is the most extensive form of motor insurance cover, which, in addition to the above cover, also provides accidental damage to the policyholder’s vehicle.

Does my motor policy cover audio equipment installed in my car?
Car radios and accessories are not covered for theft if you don't have comprehensive motor insurance. Even then, the maximum amount payable on a claim for car audio equipment is limited. Therefore, we recommend that you insure sound units at their current replacement prices as specified items under the All Risks section of your policy. This will provide full cover. |
