Policies
- A fully completed claim form i.e. all sections of the claim form must be completed including some sections that might seem unimportant e.g. insured's contact numbers, exact time of loss where possible etc.
- Insured should provide at least three repair/replacement quotations for the items lost or damaged. For damaged items needing repair the repairer must be requested as far as possible to give an explanation of the full nature of the damage and how the damage occurred i.e. cause of loss.
- A police report should be sought for all theft and malicious damage claims
Motor
Policies
- A fully completed claim form i.e. all sections of the claim form must be completed including some sections that might seem unimportant e.g. insured's contact numbers, exact time of loss where possible etc. Particularly there should be a comprehensive statement of how the loss occurred including diagrams where necessary.
- Three comprehensive (quoting for all claim related repairs) quotations within five working days. This requirement is against the background that repairs are paid as at date of loss.
- The accident/loss must be reported to the police within twenty four hours and while it is difficult to get an actual (written) report from the police the insured should
endeavour to get the Traffic Accident Record Book Number (T.A.R.B.) to enable the insurance company to make follow ups with the police for the report.
- A copy of both sides of the driver's licence where the loss occurred whilst the vehicle was being driven
NB:-
- In all cases original documents are required and where these are not available an explanation should be attached.

Always report to the police
immediately after discovery of loss or damage to the insured property.

company any loss in writing or by telephone

In all cases complete a
claim form and submit to the insurer together with the police report.

Ensure that all accidents
are reported to the police.

Replacements quotations for
damaged and or lost items should be obtained and submitted to insurer as soon
as possible.

For motor vehicle accidents,
a copy of the driver’s licence of the person driving the vehicle at the time of
the accident should be brought to the insurer together with the claim form and
three repair quotations.
